I'm a big high school football fan. I've lived in California, Oregon, Arizona, Tennessee, and Texas. I've seen most of those states top teams in person and try to catch as many out of state games if they happen to be on television. I came across this Top 100 Poll the other day. High school is way difficult to rank, but it is fun to look at other states and their programs. So, this thread is really just an open thread to chat about high school ball this year.
Here in Texas, I support the Pflugerville Panthers. We run the old Wing T and we do it a lot. One of our backs is off to Oregon State after this year. Our offense should be pretty darn good, but our schedule is tough. We have to play 4 teams in the Texas Top 25, including last year's runner up, and one that could very well win the whole thing this year. It will be absolutely brutal. However, in Texas, district play is what really counts. So, often, you'll see teams with 3 or 4 losses going really deep into the playoffs. In 2007, Pville ran into State and we finished 3rd in our district that year (with 3 losses). However, Texas has so many good teams who beat each other up, we just got on a roll and beat some of the powers that year (Abilene, Dallas Carter, Longview).
Curious to hear a preview about other's teams in other states.

Hard to compare teams unless they move outside of thier divisions..
De La Salle (Concord Ca.) had lost 1 game in ten years, then the other local teams didin't want to play them anymore, thier schedule now has half local teams and half power house teams from around the country...
Had they stayed just playing in Northern California, I would bet they would be ranked in the top 10..........
What do you know about a little team down there in Bullard......... The Brook Hill School ?
Don't follow TAPPS very much. I know they get a few D-1 recruits every year though. I think Brook Hill went to the championship last year and think they are favored to win their district again this year.

Abilene Cooper upset Austin Westlake (5a runner-up)
Kerrville Tivy (4a led by an Oregon QB commit) upset San Antonio Madison (a strong 5a team who played on ESPN last weekend)
Converse Judson whips Leander
The Woodlands beat FB Hightower in OT
Pflugerville Hendrickson's star back Kenny Williams, a Texas Tech commit, ran all over Lake Travis (a National Top 10 team)- 268 yards...but still lost. tech fans should be happy.

Permian beats Bellevue (WA) in an interstate matchup
Union (OK) beats Evangel Christian (LA)
Camden County (GA) beats Miami Northwestern (former team of Jacory Harris at Miami)
Abilene plays Franklinton (LA) today
Euless Trinity plays Shiloh (AR)
Dallas Skyline plays St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) on Monday
I think it is stupid to rank high school football teams on a national ranking.
Keep high school rankings within their own state. (just my opinion )
Yeah, it is impossible to really know. I think it is interesting to see who they rank though. I've seen Jesuit, from Portland, OR, ranked before and there is no way they could beat a ton of teams in Texas that are way smaller.
But, since this is a general thread about high school football, do you have anything else to contribute?
