Right now no team has "stats." Each team is 0-0 and has a clean slate ahead of them. The Jaguars and Eagles alike are in the 2nd year of a new coach, Chip Kelly for the Eagles and Gus Bradley for the Jaguars. Kelly is a very offensive minded coach and Bradley is a defensive minded coach. Kelly had the tools with the Eagles last year to make his vision successful and the Eagles finished 10-6 and in the playoffs. The Jags finished 4-12 last year after an 0-6 start, but their defense showed some signs of life down the stretch.
The matchup would be good, but the truth is the Jags defense, which is the stronger unit on this team, is still very much a work in progress whereas the Eagles offense is going to come out fast and look to overwhelm its opponents with its speed. The Jags defense does not seem capable of slowing this unit to the degree need to keep them in this game.
Offensively the Jaguars have literally nobody on their roster who will scare too many defenses. Chad Henne is a serviceable QB for the time being but he is not the long term solution there, nor can he take over a game and go blow for blow with an offense like the Eagles. Even against a defense that was less than stout last year and looks to be a work in progress this year.
I can see the Eagles jumping out to a huge halftime lead and the Jaguars dressing up the scoreboard in the 2nd half. But it will be too little too late in my opinion.
Eagles 42, Jaguars 14 or something in that neighborhood.
Chip Kelly is going to start this season out with a knockout!!! His plan will be to come out with immediate points, and the Eagles will get them. Expect to see some breaking of the sound barrier with Matrix style football. Right off the bat it's going to be a full can of whoop#%#. That's Chip Kelly so expect to see some creative plays.

As with most people (I think), I see this game as the blowout of the week. The only other game I see as a possible blowout is KC over Tenn.
Really? How do you reason this? I picked a Chiefs win but I'd hardly expect the Chiefs to win in a blowout. I'll be surprised if it's a 10 point win. I'd guess something along the lines of 23-20.

Just a feeling. Remember, it's Week 1. This week will tell us a lot about the rest of the season.
