I reserve the genius label for folks doing stuff other than designing FOOTBALL plays... Football Genius seems like an oxymoron to me. That being said, Belichick is the best coach in the NFL today. Caughlin has obviously gotten his number in the past but that alone should NOT diminish Belichick's accomplishments. If you want to argue Caughlin is better than Belichick, have at it and I wont disagree... I would take either and that to me is the clear answer... would you want Belichick to coach your fav team.. I know I would in a second..
I too am curious to see how effective Belichick is post Brady. Someone mentioned that there are not a lot of coaches that have had Championship success with multiple QBs and the only coach I can think of right now it Joe Gibbs. Gibbs won 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QBs, neither of which will ever get into the Pro Football HOF.. Gibbs was good, perhaps he should be labeled football genius.
I thought Mark Rypien had a chance to be a hall of famer after leading the skins to a 11-0 record and SB but for some reason after that SB win in 1991 he just fell off and would later be cut in 1993.

Rypien had a fairly respectable 5 year run with the Skins as their starting QB. Of course that 1 Super Bowl Season made his career but other than that single season, he was just a above average QB... He was injured early in '93 and never got back to being a full time starter.. but for that 1 season, he was GREAT! no question about it.

I recall him being injured in 88, benched in 89, and injured in 93. So his productive years was 1990 to 1992.
Well he will always be my hall of famer because of that favor he did for me in January of 1991
He was actually a genius as the D coordinator of the NY Giants super bowl teams. Parcells got all the credit in the mainstream, but Belichick also got carried off the field on the players shoulders.......there was a reason for that.
Belichick's Super Bowl XXV gameplan is in the NFL Hall of Fame. This was the 1991 SB.

Yeah that's how he got the Cleveland Job
