can ya blame these guys? If somebody was willing to pay me $300,000+ to come in and shoot a 30 second commercial just so they could use my celebrity to push their product, I'd be nuts to say no.
Hey, the Play 60 commercial with Cam and the little boy talking about becoming a football player is hilarious! Little boy to Cam "And you can be my backup? And make Panthers fans forget about you? And become your mom's favorite player?"
I agree this is the best commercial of 2012 but doesn't he have to start winning at some point if he continues to do all of these commercials???
I mean when was the last time a losing QB was seen all the time on commercials?
The only thing the TV people care about is how popular he is. Great if he wins, but I don't think it matters that much. As long as lots of people like person X, person X is a good person to have in commercials.

In order to be popular you have to be a winner. Like when Mcnabb did all of those Chunky SOup commercials
Why does a seasoned, very-well-paid, Pro-football player take the time and energy to do TV advertisements? It's not like they need $ or more exposure...
Now granted some are very funny...
Seen the one where Peyton and Eli are dressed like fairies???
Drew Brees with food thrown on his face, after a Clay Matthews fan (inadvertently) hits his plate of food with her arm???
Clay Matthews turning opposite team players "upside down" ... as in the ad, a plug for a razor that shaves upward strokes? (shaving on tv... )
Troy Polamalu...oh dear, the Heads and Shoulders spokesperson. I think he is beginning to take this too seriously...
So do they want even more exposure? Talk of any kind/visual presence during season must pay off somehow...
or maybe only to sell products for sponsors?
Or for fun?
All of the above?
I gotta feed my family!
NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. If they get cut, they don't get anything (except any signing bonuses, etc).
Many players make more money off endorsements than they do playing their sport (i.e. swimmers, runners, etc) with alot of commercials done overseas that you don't see here in the US.
If you're real big, you can turn yourself into a brand: Jordan, Tiger, etc -- it's a gift that keeps on giving.
I saw the 30 for 30 on Bo Jackson where they said he increased Nike cross-trainer sales 1000% the very first year of the Bo Knows campaign.
