I'd bet Ray Horton gets promoted here in AZ.

Thoughts on Shurmur and Heckert being fired in Cleveland. I have been hard on Shurmur, and I truly think that he was in over his head. However; given the young core on the Browns, and the fact that Shurmur is young himself, I would have been inclined to give him one more year. I mean, he had his back up against the wall from the get go. His first year he went through a shortened training camp due to the lock out, and then this year has a bunch of rookies starting (and in fact contributing). I wasn't a fan of them firing Heckert, as he did make some very nice picks, and I believed laid the foundation. What screwed him was the drafting of Weeden. If you are drafting a 28 year old rookie QB, it had better be a slam dunk. And as I said in the Cleveland Browns thread on here, given the performance of the other rookie QBs drafted this year in comparison, Weeden was NOT a slam dunk. That pick I believe is why he was shown the door by the new ownership group.

In San Diego, I have to wonder what took them so long to fire Norv Turner? I mean, they fire Schottenheimer after he posts a 14-2 regular season record?

A bit shocked about the Bears firing Lovie Smith. 10-6 IMO is not a record that is a terminable offense.

Crennel in KC.... Who didn't see that one coming?

Reid in Philly... Be careful what you wish for Eagles fans. With the exception of the past couple years he had you guys consistently in the thick of it.

Reid has been maybe average the second half of his time with the Eagles.

Andy Reid is interviewing with the Chiefs today so I dont think he is automatically going to be the Cardinals coach.

You apparently never listened to Crennel's press conferences or interviews. He is a running joke here in KC. He has no business being the head man behind a football team. He is far too nice and just doesnt know how to lead. He is a great DC but that is as big of a role as he needs.

I remember when Crennel was wanted by so many teams when after the Pats won their 3rd SB. Not sure why so many owners feel that assistant coaches on a winning team is going to turn their team around.
