Would someone please explain to me why Bill Belichick is considered to be a better coach than Parcels? I always thought that Bill Parcels was just brilliant. I would appreciate any thoughts and opinions.

Probably because most folks have short term memory issues. Parcells won his last Super Bowl 25 years ago... Belichick is leading his team to the Super Bowl every other year.

Thank you. I didn't consider the time factor.

Brady. Without him, the Patsies wouldn't have done nearly as much over the past years. And I don't root for either belechick or brady.

Parcells is clearly better and it's not even up for debate. Bill has won at every place he coached unlike Belechick who had a horrible coaching career with the Browns.

I'm not sure he generally is considered better, but I could think of a few reasons why people would. BB helped Parcells a lot with the giants as his defensive coordinator. And then the main reason would be his success with the Patriots. No other coach in the salary cap era has been as consistent as BB. Not only that, no coach in the salary cap era will ever match as many regular season and playoff wins as BB has in his 14 year career. May sound bold, but I am almost certain it will never be repeated. Too much parody with a salary cap.
Arguments against it? BB only had success with one team. Another huge question mark is Brady. Has the fact he has always had one of the best qb's of all time made his job a bit easier? Or is BB making Brady look better than he really is?
I think BB is the better coach though. More superbowls, more afc championships, more wins in the regular season, and more playoff wins.

I stopped seeing belechick as a genius when he lost to Eli Manning and the Giants twice. You would think that he had more knowledge of how to defend eli the second time around but loses again to the same QB who isn't really that good to begin with.

So you dismiss his ability on two playoff loses? Parcells lost his fair share of playoff games as well. You can bash Eli all you want, but the fact of the matter is the Giants matched up very well with the Patriots. They had the defensive line that could get to Brady quickly and disrupt the offense.

He had a reputation has a defensive genius and I feel he can't be considered that anymore since he lost to the same QB twice in the biggest game of the year. A QB who has missed the playoffs the past 2 years for poor play and a high interception total in the 2013 season.
