Manning beat Bears who were the best defensive team that year. He's in a similar situation. Can he beat this Seahawks? I think with the O-line he has, yes he can. But, he looked like he could crumble anytime he's off his rhythm. On the other hand, his receivers and backs look stronger than the ones he had with Colts.

That year the Bears were ranked 5th best defense in the NFL, 11th ranked in pass defense and 6th in the run defense .

Manning was 247 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT, in a 29-17 victory.

What killed the Bears wasn't their defense, it was the Bears lack of offense with Grossman coughing up 2 INT's and 3 fumbles and being 1 dimensional.

to answer your question, this Seahawks defense is way better than the 2006 Bears defense.

Manning is also way better as his team than the team he was on in '06.

2006 Indianapolis Colts

269 yrds. passing 379 yrds. total offense average per game.

2013 Denver Broncos

340 yards. passing 457 yrds. total offense.

Manning is playing better and more weapons.

Using a game from 7 years ago, considering how the game has changed, different supporting casts, no comparison.

Not to mention that was a very wet Super Bowl. I don't think a single game from '07 can be used to gauge a game in '14. Manning is till amazing and Seattle has a superb defense. We'll have to see it play out next month.

Of course the subjects have changed but it is still going to be mostly an offensive powerhouse versus a great defensive team. The question is if Manning can do it again in similar circumstances.

You can look at the stats all you want. It was Bears defense who took Grossman to SB, not the other way around. Sure Wilson looks better and a whole lot smarter than Grossman but still I don't think he could have carried the team on his own. So, it is Seahawk's defense taking Wilson to SB not the other way around. Therefore, I am asking if Manning can beat a good defensive team a second time.

was Grossman a PRO BOWL QB like Russell? Russell is a PRO BOWL QB TWICE since his rookie year and this is his 2nd year.
Seahawks strength is defense but the offense still has to score........which QB can carry his team on his own?

by the way, the NFL is a team sport. 1 person is not going MANO a MANO against the whole defense, play defense and special teams.

Can the Broncos beat the Seahawks? YES!.......can the Seahwaks beat the Broncos? YES!.......anything is possible.
