Super Bowl Halftime Shows Ranked: From Worst to Best Pictures - Super Troopers | Rolling Stone

my favorites were...
Bruce
Prince
U2

I guess I'll have to continue to wait for Rage Against the Machine

never thought the Country acts ever worked well in this setting.

I really liked the U2 one - right after 911

Also I liked McCartney's plus the Eagles were in that one and got to shake his hand - being a huge Beattles fan was pretty big deal to me

U2

I am not enamored of the halftime show. It is mostly a timekiller. In general the acts are not something I'd tune in for if separate from a football game. Is Bruno Mars really a super favorite with NFL fans? Strikes me as a girly singer. I'd rather tune out and set a timer. Or dvr the thing so I can see any commercials and zip by the "entertainment". I'll bet most sports bars are full of people busy with other things till the main attraction comes back. But maybe I'll set out tomorrow to research this subject. The men vs the women who are there.

The challenge is that you're never going to satisfy every Super Bowl viewer with just one performer. Because practically everyone in the USA watches the Super Bowl, and its viewers have varied tastes. It is the ONE TV event all year that everyone watches. It gets a massive TV share. That's why companies are willing to pay so much for a $4.5MM :30 second ad - it's the one time you can reach ALL of your audience.

So it is possible to pick any musical act and please a sizable share of the audience. But you'll never make everyone happy, either.

Big bonus for the performers who get chosen, I suppose. Just never entertains me, no matter WHO they get. Tho if it was Ozzie Osborne(or Devo), I'd probably watch. But that might turn off most of the football fanatics.

Even the halftime show sucked tonight
Justin Beiber next year?
I feel for the advertisers who paid $4million for their second half spots i doubt many people who aren't due hard football fans stayed tuned in

I thought Bruno Mars hit a homerun tonight. The halftime show looked spectacular.
