WOuld you induct McNabb into the Hall of Fame? (drafted, coaches, draft)

What about Tony Romo? When all is said and done his numbers will blow away guys like Kelly, Aikman and Fouts. They will be similar to Young, but better due to more years as a starting QB. He is currently sitting on 28,500 yards, 208 TDs to 101 Ints, 64% completion and a career 95.8 rating.
Romo, unlike McNabb though and the others of course, has played exclusively in an NFL dominated by the passing game.
Precisely. "Look at Player X's numbers compared to QBs from the Pre 2000's" is littered all over current NFL forums. For example how only a handful of Hall of Fame QBs had a higher completion percentage than Colin Kaepernick.
In 5-10 years when the Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees etc retire, alot of these half truths will be abolished.
Ultimately would you take McNabb over those QBs listed? I think there is a significant gap between them and McNabb, while Aikman's 3 SB's speak for themselves. What saves Troy's ass in head to head comparisons is his numbers in Big Games. He was a money QB which on the flip side McNabb was exactly not.
I'll remember McNabb as an accurate passer in a gimmicky offense. He benefited from nimble legs when the NFL was still in transition. His legs would be viewed as average in todays NFL.
For quarterbacks, with a few exceptions, admission into the N.F.L. Hall of Fame has been pretty black and white.
HOF Thresholds
Basically, a quarterback has been considered HOF worthy if he:
Won multiple Super Bowls OR
Threw for over 40,000 yards
He is a choker of epic proportions. He has cost me tons of money as a waitress at a Philly night club. Losing isnt exactly a great motivator to stay out all night and party.
I've learned it though, as a Philly fan, we do awesome and once you get your hopes up a 500 lb woman sits on you and crushes your dreams.
He's certainly "on the cusp"... especially seeing his numbers stack up and are overall better than someone like Jim Kelly... but his playoff record does not stack up. Although both players didn't win at least Kelly was 4 for 4 in Conference Championship games whereas McNabb was 1 - 5.
Also.. for playing 13 total years his numbers are pretty good on average... the TD/INT ratio excellent (isn't it #1 all-time right now?). However... his last few years in the league were just disastrous.
Anyway.. to answer the question.. I'm on the NO end. There's just going to be too many quality guys with eligibility as him going forward where it's going to be an uphill battle.
McNabb was Elite for a couple years.. top 5 in the game. Had he been able to extend that a few more years then he could have made it without a championship but as it stands now.. he is on the outside looking in..
Comparing the numbers of a quarterback who almost entirely played in the 21st century - when the NFL game, from style to rules, is completely oriented around the pass - to quarterbacks who played in the 90s, 80s and even 70s is absurd. Example: Marino's 48 touchdown passes in 1984 is like throwing 60 touchdown passes today.
By that 'logic', Bart Starr shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame but Jon Kitna should.

I say the great Jerry Kramer who was the lead blocker on many of the Green Bay Packer signature power sweeps in the Vince Lombardi era should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame before anyone else. It is a travesty that he is not in.
