Just watched the Fox post game show... All the guys on the panel said they have never seen a PI penalty called and then picked up without any announcement.
In keeping with team thread purpose, I locked down the Cowboy team thread as the last 15 posts dealt with this controversial call (and yes, it is QUITE controversial). And of course the Lion thread will be used for those comments.
As soon as I saw Vegas Cabbie start this thread, I was good w/ it, and right away shut down the Cowboy thread for a bit (will re-open it after a while.)
That was a pretty curious call, especially since it was a pretty obvious case of PI by the defender. I am not an NFL conspiracy theorist, but stuff like this is why they exist. I don't think the league is going to change its mind, though. I'd be surprised if they even offer an explanation, really. They don't like to admit mistakes.
I don't believe in conspiracies in the NFL, and palms being greased for ratings or future game setups for revenue.
BUT, that was THE most suspect call to believe in a conspiracy that I have ever seen. The one, I mean ONE critical thing a defender needs to do to attempt to avoid interference is turn his head around and look at the ball. He did not. And that was not incidental contact, as they were hand battling quite a bit.
