Ya, I didn't like that he thought he was better than the system and wanting to decide where to go. That isn't the way the draft works. If you don't like where you are drafted, wait 4 years, then if you are good enough, take your pick when you are a free agent.

But on the flipside, if you were him. Everyone would have done the same damn thing that he did. If you got the clout, use it. The Chargers did look horrible the year he was drafted, thus having the #1 pick. The Giants even though they had a bad record, had more peices in place.

If he ends up having a great career, then everyone will eventually forget about all of this, just like Elway.

Does this irritate anyone else?

The system is setup so the weakest teams get the better players. Manipulating the system like the Mannings did is just wrong. Dear old daddy Manning just wanted the NY spotlight and for the possibility of a Manning / Manning superbowl. Well, regardless of who Eli plays against, I WILL ALWAYS ROOT AGAINST HIM.

It's too bad Eli has this 3 game winning streak, otherwise he may have been looking for a job.

BTW, I think San Diego is pretty happy how it turned out : getting Merriman and Rivers.

well you know what? i think san diego are stabing them selves in the back because phillup rivers is a FRAUD!! hes just a Ryan Leaf waiting to happen, if not, already has! its too bad Eli has a three game winning streak?? whats wrong with you?! hes going to be the real deal right after his brother Peyton. im sure that the chargers are on their hands and knees crying like little sissys because eli punched them in the mouth by winning superbowl 42!!!

Looks like there was a manning to manning superbowl and it was one of the greatist in history! if you dont like the mannings, than you are a fool. (only thing better could be a manning against manning in a superbowl, now that would be something to watch.)

but what really irratates me more than this thread is phillup river's mouth!! he needs to go to the dentist and get all his teeth pulled which are full of grime, custard, cream, and absolute balhony!!

in the 2004 draft class, big ben roethlisberger already won, now manning, well what about rivers?? its never going to happen!!

im glad they beat the patriots, because thats the only team i hate worse than the chargers
