How so? Goodell never claimed Brady or the Patriots were bad just that there was cheating that deserved punishment. No one is surprised by his performance, including Goodell.

Based on what evidence?
Funny how the NFL has not released any PSI readings after they said they were going to be transparent.
Suspending Brady sure didn't hurt the Patriots...they just kept on rolling. That said, I don't think Goodell cares. As pointed out, he just wanted accountability.

Goodell is doing a good job all by himself of making himself look like a fool this year. By fining every celebration but suspending a wife beater only one game. That's a fool for you.
While I am not a Patriot fan, I do like Brady....I have never seen a QB do so much with so little....that said, lets be fair. While I don't think Brady was in the bathroom stall letting the air out of the balls, do you really believe he had "no idea" the ball boy did this....as Cris Carter would say "C'mon Man"....Of course he knew....Belicheck controls EVERYTHING about that team, you believe he didn't know (facepalm). I think they would have beaten the Colts that day if Brady was throwing a medicine ball instead of a football, they were just a better team. This "Brady had no idea this was going on" is a bit naïve if you believe that
News Flash....
There is no proof that any deflation ever even occurred....
The NFL botched the "investigation" from the outset, released false data about the degree of ball deflation at the outset to poison the process....never documented the "pre game air pressures" used 2 different dime store pressure gauges and never kept track of which gauge was used when...despite a fair difference in pressures recorded by the two gauges....only measured a few of the Colts balls and 3 out of the 4 Colts balls were also underinflated...a fact that seems to be always overlooked
On top of all this conflicting data, the NFL completely ignored the Ideal Gas Law....when dealing with varying air pressures measured at different air temperatures....a phenomenon that anyone that has Tire pressure monitors on their cars and lives in cold weather states is very aware of....
The consensus opinion of scientists that have looked at this objectively and reproduced the exact conditions at which the balls were most likely inflated to start, lower level of allowed, the air temperature and humidity at game time, the time to measure again in a warm environment....Patriots footballs measured EXACTLY what the ideal gas law said they should measure.....
Anyone who has taken the time to look at this rationally can come to no other conclusion than Deflategate never happened...
If you really want a "C'mon man" moment how about this one?
Before the 2015 season the NFL publicized the fact that it would be doing spot checks of air pressures of footballs before games, during half time and after games....this would include many cold weather cities...
At the time of the announcement NFL said it would release the data...
Fast forward to the end of the 2015 season and Roger Goodell reversed course stating the NFL would NOT be releasing the data
Anyone who thinks the NFL would be with holding this data if it supported their position is being naive....there can only be one reason for not releasing the data....it shows that footballs deflate in cold weather to the degree the Patriots footballs deflated in the 2014 Championship game
