most of the time is spent figuring out other stuff.. Once they realize, crap.. we blew that call. then they have to figure out where the ball needs to be SPOTTED and how much time needs to be on the CLOCK..

I think instant replay is great for the game. I like that TDs and turnovers get reviewed automatically now.

I like automatic scoring reviews also. I like it when they automatically review under two minutes after the two minute warning.

Just to be clear, if you don't like instant replay in football, please explain in your opinion. A lot of fans in the NFL like it but again, instant replay needs to speed up. It takes way too much time which is the only problem I have with NFL instant replay.

I do support the use of instant replay, but I agree with others the process needs to be refined and made quicker.
Perhaps use the Nba current system of having calls reviewed in a center by supervisory personnel to make decisions. Their process seems to be quicker.
I think some of the casual fans are turning games off and this has resulted in declining ratings due to length of the games----football games should not take longer than 3 hours to play----when that happens some casual fans will leave the tv.
Real football fans want the calls to be right and are patient-----so the nfl has a dilemma here and needs to find ways to cut the length of games and speeding up replay is vital.

Instant replay was first used in 1986 but it was banned after 1991 but it was eventually brought back full time in 1999 and NFL has been using it ever since.

Let's bring it up to date. What do you think?

PS At least instant replay is finally sped up.

it never really has been "instant", there's always been some delay involved, should be called delayed replay

The idea is to get the call right and countless calls have been corrected and the team that should win has won because of instant replay. I'm not sure it's necessary for every scoring play, I think that needs to be adjusted to speed up the game. But it's crazy to complain about a 2 minute wait if they get the call right.

I'd much rather them take forever and get it right.
