And he never coached in the NFL again after that.. sad.. Petitbon got a raw deal. He was left with a fairly aged team that wasn't going anywhere.
But.. Old Man Cooke knew there was a rebuild coming up and I think that's why he jettisoned Petitbon. He could get Norv, who he totally believed in.. Drafted Shuler, which set them back another 4 years.
No matter if you think Kirk Cousins is the QB of the future or not.. At least he hasn't taken himself out of a game by headbutting a wall. Still love ya, Gus.
Cleveland has the absolute worst roster as far as talent in years the NFL has seen. The coach of the Lions 0-16 team deserved to be fired because he actually had serviceable talent on that roster like Megatron, Cliff Avril, and Jeff Backus among a pretty decent OL. Hue has Joe Thomas, Terrell Pryor, Jamie Collins and nothing else. Plus their division rivals have had the same coaches since 2008 and all have been in the playoffs consistently and even have rings to show for it. Cleveland needs to give Hue a fair chance to let a culture develop and that means keeping him beyond this year even with a 0-16 finish.

It would make sense to me since the team has missed the playoffs three seasons in a row after making the playoffs in 2013. That's why Chip Kelly was fired from the eagles because his team missed the playoffs two seasons in a row after making the playoffs his 1st season.
