I understand it's all about viewership. Same thing goes for mock drafts. Everyone and their uncle has a mock draft these days.
Just google YEAR NFL Draft Grade (go at least 3 years back) and you'll laugh at all the immediate post draft grades. 2013 is an especially fun/bad year.
The interesting ones to me are the 'redrafts'.. But, i think you have to wait at least 3 years to do that..
NFL.com did a 'redraft' of the 2012 draft in 2014.. And said that the Jags should have taken RG3.. The Redskins would have selected Russell Wilson.. Which I kind of agree with.. Not sure how he would have done in Shanahan's system, but.. He does seem to be the second best (or perhaps best) QB in that draft.

I'm looking back at that 2012 draft and it's becoming glaringly obvious just how terrible that draft was for the Redskins. Besides drafting Kirk Cousins in the fourth round (which has turned out to be pretty decent so far) and Alfred Morris in the six round (which I still miss him), The Redskins could have gotten Luke Kuechly, whom I was very high on coming out of college, Russell Wilson in the third, still would have drafted Kirk Cousins in the fourth, Josh Norman in the fifth, and Justin Bethel in the sixth round. If not Luke Kuechly, I would have traded down, picked up a second rounder (Redskins didn't have one that year), drafted Dont'a Hightower in the first and Alshon Jeffery in the second. I know hindsight is 20/20, but a lot of these guys were available at the time the Redskins drafted. AND, the Redskins would have had a first rounder the following year and in year 2014, could have drafted Travis Frederick, Zach Martin, or a WR in Mike Evans or OBJ.
After a few years, you start to see just how a draft really affects a team.
At least the Redskins are going back and getting some of those solid players, although having to pay a bit more to get them (Josh Norman, Zach Brown, Brian Quick.)
So, yeah, it is kind of funny how they're grading drafts when these guys haven't even stepped one foot out on the field. Having said that, I do believe the Redskins, at least on paper, have had a solid draft this year.
It really is a crap shoot. Half of all picks will end up being busts every year.
Honestly, it seems like the ones with staying power wind up being drafted in the 2nd and lower rounds. I think it's because the expectations aren't as high, those players aren't always expected to start from day one, and those that don't are given the opportunity to learn the pro level on the bench in that first year. Especially true for quarterbacks. I almost feel that any QB drafted, whether first round or seventh, should automatically be red-shirted in the first year. The pro game is so high pressured that it's often more than what a young guy straight out of college can handle.
Funny. What is over/under on how many of those projected 1st rounders actually make it. I say only 5 will actually be 1st round picks
They're projecting the Dallas Cowboys to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. That should invalidate it right there.
