I left the house after the Saints to the lead with the FG with about 30 seconds left. Can't believe the Vikings won. Why weren't the Saints playing more of a deep prevent defense? Should have been multiple guys deep for the Saints.
Diggs drew double coverage. When one of them took a dive at the last second to avoid pass interference, he inadvertently wiped out the second defender. Even the Vikes on the field couldn't believe it. "What just happened?!"
I listened to the first half; got home at halftime and debated whether I should watch it or not with the lop-sided score. Decided to watch it and glad I did! What a game! Both teams played well and deserved to win.
All the games this weekend were good. The Pats game wasn't close, but it was a pleasure watching so much talent, even if it is on the wrong team. I can't imagine them not winning it all. (But then I said that about the Eagles a couple months ago.)
I went 2-2 this weekend, 1-1 in both NFC and AFC, for a 4-4 playoff record. Might as well be flipping a coin.
That game had typical Vikings written all over it. Dominate the team for over half the game (all the fans get jacked), fall apart late (all the fans start realizing the inevitable), miss a game winning field goal (all the fans question why we were ever a fan to begin with)... Diggs said **** that ****!!!!
Also, that 4th and 10... Are you MFing me?

The real irony of that last play is that before it, the Saints were playing defense the way you should in these situations- and it was working. None of these stupid prevents that always seem to cost teams. Remember with about the same remaining time, Atlanta completed just two passes after falling behind against Seattle, in order to get into range and kick a winning field goal- think it was 2012. Marcus Williams whiffed- he had help too- so if he just lets Diggs catch the ball- there should be plenty of back-up there to tackle Diggs in-bounds and end the game. The other irony was Joe Buck proclaiming the "most anti-climatic extra point"- hardly! Just the opposite!
All I can say is both games were fun to watch. We had to miss most of the second 1/2 of the first game: had a church couples group meeting we felt we had to attend. Luckily one guy had his Ipad with him and sat it between himself and his wife. We at least got a few reports on the game, but very quietly. I am sure a few would have not been amused he was watching it.
In the age of the DVR I'll never understand how football fans would miss playoff games.
The Diggs play (my Maryland guy by the way) was the most spectacular ending to a playoff game ever. Just stunning. For a guy who liked both teams and didn't really care who won that entire game was a joy to watch. I am still laughing at Mike Tomlin kicking an onsides kick, what a bonehead.
At the risk of repeating myself... 2-2 for the Divisional Weekend, plus 1-3 last Wild Card Weekend = 3-5 for an almost totally disastrous campaign for the Colt.
Save my Bandwagon Bacon much, Minnesota? Incredible switch to an almost unavoidable loss! That miracle Case Keenum pass was nothing less than a miracle catch on Stefon Diggs' end. Even Case was totally surprised. Diggs was, well... emotional afterward.
What an ending to a game! Congrats to the Vikes. However, EAGLES waiting in the "wings"...
