A lot of super bowls don't live up to the hype, this was one of them. It was a close game though, it was 3-3 in the 4th until the Pats scored a TD with 7 minutes left. They added a field goal with 1:12 left, for the final score 13-3.
I don’t think the Rams would’ve scored a touchdown if you gave them another 4 quarters to play. So, technically, it was close in the 4th, for a little while, but unless the Rams D started scoring the writing was on the wall. Everyone knows the Pats were not ending with just 3 points. 13 to 3 isn’t a blowout but it ain’t close either.
Jared Goff had 1 touchdown in three playoff games... 1!

XL was worse IMHO. Yesterday was defensive football but it wasn't sloppy and the refs let the teams play. That game between the Steelers and Seahawks was awful. All around. Teams looked bad, refs looked bad...That was a pretty underwhelming game.

As a Pats fan, I agree, the helmet catch, Seattles game ending drive caught by Butler..........yup we know a lot can happen in two minutes. KC tied it up with 43 seconds. When the clock reads zero, I can breathe
Winning by 2 points is a blowout in those sports, especially soccer. Winning by two scores is getting close to a blowout in football.
You have to consider what the score was for most of the game. If it was 10-0 from the first quarter on that would have a worse feel. It was 3-3 half way through the fourth quarter and only a one score game until about a minute and half left.
I'd say this was the worst Super Bowl in quite some time. Maybe the worst ever. Even if you're a fan of defense, it's not like the Patriots' defense was really putting on a show the way the Legion of Boom did a few years ago. It was mostly Goff putting up the worst performance in Super Bowl history. With a wide open Cooks streaking towards the end zone, that ends up being a TD 10 times out of 10 even with Tua Tagovailoa.
Not for me. I prefer a blowout to yesterday’s mediocrity. At least one team is being clinical in their dismantling of another team. Obviously, I prefer a good competitive game but if you watch the highlights from yesterday’s game you might just fall asleep.
I agree. I also don't get people saying that this was some masterclass in defensive football. On 3rd and 2, Goff leaves the pocket, decides against throwing the ball away, and takes a 14-yard sack, making it 4th and 16. Where was the brilliant defensive play there? On another play, Goff completely misses a receiver on a wide open dig route that would have gone for at least 25 yards. On yet another play, Goff misses a receiver doing backflips on his way to the end zone, finally recognizes him 3 seconds later, and throws a late wobbly duck that gets knocked down by the safety. And finally, in the face of a blitz, Goff launches the ball into the air off his back foot where it safely nestles into the hands of a New England defender.
Goff finished the game with a 57.9 QB rating. For reference, Kirk Cousins finished his abomination of a game against the Bears with a 79.4 QB rating. Yes, folks, you are reading that correctly. Goff sucked even harder than Kirk Cousins.
