One of my all time favorite things to do is to poke around the garage while the ball game is on the radio. 'Tis a beautiful time to do that in Phoenix right now.

It's not just the flags but also eliminating the kickoff, you cannot touch the QB now, starting out on the 25 instead of the 20 because they want to increase scoring, I'd like it if they started out on the 10. Kicking is a part of the game, stats have already proven the kickoff is not the most dangerous play.

My list of complaints.

Flags, especially on kick returns.

JR and SR on jerseys. Is your kid or dad playing too and we might get confused. I can see Griffey or Ripken because their dad was in uniform at the same time but the kid is 5! He isn't getting into the game.

End zone celebrations. Hand the ball to the ref. Act like you've been there before.

Overtime. It should only be for playoff games. We had ties for decades. In playoff games play a full quarter not these gimmick things they have now.

I record games I want to see and wait about 75 minutes to start watching. I can watch a whole game in 1.5 to 1.75 hours. I fast forward at 15:1 during ads (and the execrable halftime shouting match) and I even fast forward at 4:1 between plays as I don't want to hear the "expert" tell me where so and so played high school football, even if he threw 4 touchdowns for Polk High in the city championship game.

Don't even get me started about the horrible experience of watching MLB games on TV. Good grief.
From what I read years ago the average duration of actual action in an NFL game is only about 10-12 minutes. That's cumulative time from start of play to finish. Seems incredible but it was widely reported.

When they started taking a knee, I took a hiatus.

Once a year for as long as I've been a football moderator a thread like this comes along. I gave it a little time for people to rant, but when it turns to ^this^, thread goes bye bye, because I know what happens afterwards.
