Wonder if anyone is taking bets on the NFL officials? One of three possibilities: 1. Incompetent 2. NFL wants big market teams to win for ratings and or 3. Officials are on the take or betting on games.

1) Incompetent
2) Don't know how to interpret the rules
3) Too many changing penalties and rules from year to year so nothing is ever consistent. I mean how they are STILL trying to figure out what a catch is! C'mon guys it's gonna be the year 2020 in about 8 weeks, get it together.

When you combine the 3, that's why we are where we are in regards to NFL officiating.

The effort to protect the QB is well intended, and IMO it's not so much bad calls as bad rules that make for all of these incredibly unfair roughing the passer penalties. But there is also little question they throw way too many flags on other plays and that's on them. But no they are not betting on games, they have way too much to lose if they are caught.

If you have a gambling addiction then what you have to lose doesn?t matter.

#2 has been true for a long time.
#3 got proved in the NBA about a decade ago.

The whole thing has been fixed for years anyhow.. all major leagues are.
