What the hell were the Dolphins thinking in giving THAT kind of $$$ to a total bust? With three #1 picks in this year's draft which includes at least 4 OTs who could go within the top 12-15 picks, I have to question the sanity of the Dolphins front office and their owner. Cards GM Steve Keim absolutely swindled the Texans in that ridiculously one-sided trade for Hopkins; no argument there, and he ought to be lucky that nobody arrested him for grand larceny!!!
Texans HC Bill O'Brien is apparently very tempermental with a very short fuse, and granted this upcoming draft is loaded with WRs, but taking arguably the league's best WR away from Deshaun Watson is beyond insane IMHO. It's official--the Rams are now in salary cap hell after signing some of the cogs who propelled them into the Super Bowl two years ago to enormous long-term contracts earlier than necessary yet failed to beat the Patriots.
Cam now is no longer a Panther. I'm doubtful he ends up in Foxboro. The Chargers, Broncos, and Jaguars would seem to be the most viable choices. Maybe as a backup.
The problem though is your assuming Cam Newton is still going to be a starting quarterback. I wouldn't bank on that.
He's no worse than the current guys in LA, Jacksonville and New England. None of those guys are starters in the traditional sense. Especially Tyrod who doesn't have youthful age and potential on his side anymore.
The guys in Denver, New England and Jacksonville, while not starter level, you could easily start them because of their potential. I think Newton will sign a relatively cheap deal somewhere. Making it palatable that he could be a back up if needed. He might even benefit long term from an extra year off in a back up role.
Saints G.M. Mickey Loomis would like to postpone the draft. We'll see.
There's no reason to. We all have film on these guys. If you want to know who they are as a person you can conference call them. They even completed the combine too before the Covid-19 blew up.
