Making a general post because he played for the Steelers, coached for the Packers, pretty well known guy, HOF, too.

Way too young, I always liked him and felt the Packers "D" was never the same after he left. RIP, Kevin.

58 is so young. I'm glad they caught this coaching moment on camera he had with Clay in the Super Bowl

Great article from Demovsky about Greene, written in 2014, Greene decided to step away, spend time with family:

I love that he retired still at the top of his game in Carolina. May he RIP.

I mentioned the Steelers and forgot to mention Panthers, Rams and 49ers. The tributes from players, former teams and coaches, media members who played with him, many telling great stories.

I have to listen to McAfee tomorrow to see if they talk about one Aaron told about Kevin, Ric Flair, him, Mason Crosby and Graham Harrell. It was priceless. Apparently Graham is a major Ric Flair fan but was tongue tied speechless and couldn't talk to him.

Greene spent some time as a pro wrestler as well during his days in Carolina. During the offseason he'd come in to WCW and partner/feud with Steve McMichael.

No word on the cause of death. I presume likely heart issues.

But he was well loved in Carolina. Him and Sam Mills kinda epitomize the franchise. Both gone too soon.

I liked Greene.

Greene stood up for his team in 1998 when then-Defensive Coordinator, now Auburn Interim Head Coach, Kevin Steele was busy calling bad defensive plays. Both had an altercation. Greene was suspended by the Panthers for one game, then he was named the National Football League Players Association's National Football Conference Linebacker of the Year.

2016 inductee.

I remember him from back in 1984. His class at the Armor Officers Basic Course at Fort Knox got into a pickup football game with mine. He was easily the greatest athlete that I ever competed against
