Tragic week for the NFL. Jeff Gladney a former first rounder dies in a car accident not far down the road in Dallas. Now Marion Barber. Just a sad week
According to the full autopsy report, obtained by TMZ Sports, Barber died after he had appeared to have been exercising in "sauna-like conditions" in his apartment.
In the documents, officials say Barber's body was found in his residence where the thermostat was set at 91 degrees and the heat was set to "on."
Investigators noted there was exercise equipment present at the scene, and said that Barber did, in fact, have a "history of exercising during sauna-like conditions."
According to the report, there was no evidence of trauma or drug overuse found inside of Barber's body, and "no clear evidence of natural disease found" either.
...
According to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office, Barber's death was ruled an "accident."
Wow... exercised himself to death in extreme conditions.

Heat strokes are real. I was out in the heat and humidity last summer for hours, and not doing anything strenuous other than walking. I even had a break to eat lunch and hydrate indoors.
For days (almost a week), I was having lingering symptoms of dehydration and my body was super sore. Not sure if it was officially a heat stroke or not. I just recently turned 40, but I’m in good shape.
I can only imagine doing something strenuous in the heat. I learned my lesson and will no longer venture out in extreme heat.

He was indoors in his apartment. Temp inside was 91 I believe.
I regularly go on hour long bike rides in 103+ degrees conditions. Went on one yesterday at 106F. I like to think I'm smart about it, take plenty of water and that I've worked hard at conditioning myself for these rides. But you never know I suppose. I don't venture anything longer than 1.25 -1.5 hours though when it is that hot out. Too risky I think.
