It's funny that until recently, I have never heard of this quarterback who played 20 professional seasons and was a three time Grey Cup champion later inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame. That goes to show how little many of us Americans know about the CFL. To those that are familiar with Colvillo, how well do you think he stacked up against other great pro-football QBs like Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, or Aaron Rodgers? Do you think the NFL could have missed out big time by not drafting Colvillo? Or is the CFL to NFL apples to oranges and therefore it is too hard to compare his record and stats to the other great QBs?

Apples and oranges. Calvillo was not even drafted. Also consider Henry Burris is another CFL legend.

Its apples to spaghetti. Two completely different worlds. Talent level is so different. He never even played at a high college level, so he never saw top level defenders in his college or pro career. The game is just so much faster at the NFL level than everywhere else. I am glad he found a place to have an amazing career and make his mark while providing entertainment to so many. I prefer to think of the more junior leagues in all sports as an important part of love of the sport and athletics in general, and not to try to compare them to the most senior league in the sport. There is no reason to compare them. Just enjoy each for the amazing things they provide.
