MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The state Senate is set to consider a bill that would allow NFL teams to run red lights on their way to Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

The bill would permit police to escort any vehicle processions through red lights.

How is this worthy of it's own thread? In Kansas City, the visiting team in any sport gets a police escort to the stadium and they dont stop for anything and even block the entrances on the highway.

I get that is standard procedure in most cities.

I am just going to wait for that first knucklehead to complain about teams and professional athletes getting special treatment and the ensuing downfall of civilization comments.

I mean really, a police escort getting to run red lights. Is that REALLY newsworthy?
