Eureka Copper Canyon 10 Tent

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The Eureka Copper Canyon 10 Tent is a great choice for a family camping trip. This tent sleeps four to five people and has a ten by ten foot floor.

One of the outstanding features of this tent is the walls. Eureka has designed this tent to have vertical walls, not slanted in like tents of the past. The vertical walls give the Copper Canyon 10 higher head room through out the tent, not only at the peak in the center. It's walls also give the sense of an open, airy space. The center height of the tent is about seven feet, while the sides, near the walls must be nearly six.

The tent also offers a lot of window space on the walls. With the windows open the feeling of open space is even greater. Each wall has a large window, and of course, they can be closed for privacy or added warmth. The storm fly, which goes over the top of the tent extends over each window enough, that in a normal rain it would prevent most of the falling rain from entering the tent.

The floor of the tent extends up the sides of the walls, creating a tub-like bottom to the tent. This ensure, that in the vent of a lot of rain or water flow outside of the tent, it will be unlikely to find its way into the bottom of the tent.

All of the zippers were strong and functioned without getting stuck, even when wet. The Eureka Copper Canyon Tent has a gear net on the inside. I found the net to be a nice addition, but it is not large enough to hang very much.

The tent is not too heavy for family camping when you are able to travel to your site via boat or vehicle. It weights just over twenty-five pounds. I found this tent to be fairly easy to assemble and take down. When built, the tent is freestanding, which means you do not need to use spikes or ropes to help set it up or keep it up. But I do strongly recommend, you spike it and tie it down, to prevent it from blowing over.

Eureka has been making camping tent for over one hundred years. The Binghamton, New York based company continues to manufacture some of the greatest tents available on the market today, and the Copper Canyon 10 is one of them. - Reviewed by ConchRaider
