Ride has been putting out high quality snowboards for a long time now. As one of the best names in snowboarding right now, when you purchase a snowboard from them, you have a set of expectations about the quality and craftsmanship. The Agenda did not disappoint.
First of all, it does better in powder than one might expect. It seems to float over the powder rather thank sink in, as a lot of freestyle oriented boards tend to. This is because they're design is centered around being flexible, and getting speed quickly.
The Agenda also does admirably in the park. The pop does not leave quickly like many other freestyle boards tend to. Because of this pop, even after 20 or 30 days of winter the Agenda holds a very comfortable ride. The chatter is relatively low as well, at least less than one would expect from $300 snowboard.
Holding a line is easy as well. The design of the sidewall compliments a fair amount of technical riding. This holds particularly true for black diamond runs, where control is a premium commodity. The side walls also cut well in the pipe. Many icy half pipes can be rough if one is riding a board with out amazing sidewall design, which catches at the appropriate times.
On the other hand, the base is a little slower than would seem optimal for such a well rounded snowboard. Even with a good wax, and a regular hot wax, the board's base seems a bit sticky. It has a rough time starting on flatter areas, regardless of the wax. Because of this, the board is well suited for beginner or intermediate riders, who have room to grow, and are not trying to break the bank on a new snowboard.
