Kenmore White 1.1 cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven (52378411 model)

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

We finally broke down and bought another microwave. We have a larger model in our kitchen but needed a small microwave for the family room in an effort to keep the teenagers happy. We purchased the Kenmore White 1.1 cu. ft. countertop microwave oven and have been well pleased with its performance.

This particular microwave isn't used to cook large meals. However, the microwave works overtime popping popcorn, warming pizza pockets, and heating single-serve snacks. We spent right around one hundred dollars for the unit so we weren't planning to prepare five-course meals. However, the kids use the microwave around the clock so we wanted something reliable.

Kenmore products are always purchased first in my household because of the dependability. This is a cheaper model so I wouldn't say this is a high quality microwave but it has held up well and offers great features. I like the easy touch pad controls, the glass turntable (plate), and the preset buttons since the kids often rely on those while warming leftovers or frozen snacks.

With the added convenience of a timer and clock, this microwave offers everything I typically want in my larger kitchen model. The add-a-minute is a feature we use a lot as well as the defrost option which actually works better on this model than the current larger kitchen unit we own.

We purchased the white oven which was a mistake because it does show every smudge. However, it's easy to clean and since it's lightweight, moving the microwave is never a problem.

We've had this microwave for a couple of years and for the money, it was a great buy. I'd purchase another one and will probably buy my son the exact model when he moves out. It's dependable and easy to use.
