The 25.0 GE Side-by-Side Refrigerator is a mid-price refrigerator and can be purchased from retail stores, such as the Home Depot. Compared to our last refrigerator, GE has put a lot of thought into what a customer wants regarding a refrigerator. The doors are deep enough to hold gallon jugs. No more filling up the top shelf with milk! The bins for fruits and vegetables have a control to adjust the humidity. Our vegetables stay fresher up to at least three extra days compared to before. There's also an adjustable temperature control for the meat drawer.

The freezer has a water filtration system. With a push of the dispenser, water or ice is available. When the ice maker is used daily, it works great. However, if it isn't used for a week or two, the ice has a mild odor. Just once we weren't able to get any ice to come out at all. We realized that a frozen food item had bumped a lever, causing a jam. We're now careful in not putting anything right next to the maker. The GE refrigerator is energy efficient and meets the Energy Star qualifications. It runs amazingly quiet! The only time noise is noticeable is when it fills up with water after a lot of ice is used. The freezer has absolutely no ice build-up and rarely have we experienced any freezer burn on our frozen products. Due to the FrostGuard technology, it monitors when the freezer door is open and it defrosts only when needed.

One of the nice features of the refrigerator is the raised edges of the shelves. Should something get spilled, it won't trickle down the entire refrigerator. The shelf can be cleared off, removed, washed and returned within just a few minutes. The doors open easily, so if you're used to tugging on a door, beware. They take some getting used to.
