The Sunbeam Tea Drop is a 28 ounce tea maker. It features an easy to remove tea filter and 6 different tea strengths. Easy to use and easy to clean, this speeds up the tea making process from a 20 minute process to a 5 minute wait for strong tea. Limited in safety features, it is suggested that only adults operate the tea maker.

The Sunbeam Tea Drop features a lift top and a removable basket. In order to put water in the tea maker, a person must remove the basket first. This basket comes in two parts. There is a single plastic piece that can be used independently of the screen second piece. If not using the screen it is suggested to use packaged tea to prevent tea leaves clogging the filter. Loose tea leaves can be used in the screened filter, but this filter must be used with the solid plastic piece. The solid piece does have the funnel that directs the tea towards the pot and not back into the tank.

The tea pot itself is very decorative and modern. The plastic handle sweeps up and over the tea pot, giving it a modern and sleek appearance. The handle and matching pot lid are a light gray that work as a neutral color in any kitchen. The tea pot is well designed and is not known for dribbling tea down the sides as it pours like other tea pots that are not as well designed. The pot is kept warm by a warming plate that is at the bottom of the tea maker. Once the tea pot is empty, it is important to remember to shut off the tea maker to prevent burning and breaking the tea pot.

The Sunbeam Tea Drop does not shut off automatically, turn on automatically and will run even if the lid is left open. The primary safety features of this tea pot include the polarized plug and the short cord. These features are not enough to prevent burns and injury if the tea pot is used inappropriately. For the sake of safety only adults should use this tea maker. An additional warning is that the tea is very hot immediately after it is brewed. It is suggested to allow the tea to sit on the warming plate for a while before attempting to drink it due to its heat. This tea will burn skin if drank immediately after brewing.
