The Zarafina Tea Making Suite is a must-have item for any tea lover. It brews a variety of teas (both loose and bagged) at the right temperature and for the right length of time, to make the perfect cup of tea.

The fact that both loose and bagged tea can be used with this machine means you do not have to compromise on what tea you have. We do not always want to have the same drink. The Zarafina tea maker is superb in that you can select which type of tea you are making (black, white, green, oolong and herbal), as well as how strong or mild you want it, and the time and temperature are adjusted accordingly. The tea is held in the infuser until the water has reached the required temperature. Then, while the tea is steeping, the temperature is maintained until the tea is lifted back out and your drink is poured.

All of the selections are made using simple slider switches, so no illogical keypads. So far, my tea has been made exactly to my requirements.

Once your tea is ready (up to 16oz), it is automatically poured into the ceramic teapot that is supplied with the machine. You can then carry your tea away using the matching tray unit, which pulls out and is large enough to also hold the two cups that are included. It really is as simple as that. One small quibble with the teapot is that it tends to drip, but it is best to protect surfaces from hot items with mats anyway.

The water container needs to be hand-washed, as there are metal elements on the base of the jug. It is really important that these do not come onto contact with water, as only the tiniest amount can blow the machine when it is used. It would be an improvement if the manufacturer could find a way to better protect these elements.

The tea maker is approximately 19" by 12" by 25", and comes in the color 'shale' with stainless steel features. For added peace of mind a one year manufacturer's warranty is included.

Although more expensive than some other tea makers, this Zarafina model comes with added features that are very useful. True tea lovers are particular about how their tea is brewed, and different types of teas have different requirements. This machine caters for all tastes, with very little input but fantastic results.
