I wasn't totally convinced that the Frigidaire FPHN2899LF refrigerator was what we wanted or needed. At a sticker price ranging from $1799-$2699, I had to be convinced before I consented to the purchase.

My first concern was the freezer being located on the bottom of the unit; it reminded me of the old chest type freezers we had when I was a child. You were never able to find anything in one of those without taking everything out. Of course, this refrigerator has slide out trays that make it much simpler to locate items than the older models from the 60's.

The next concern for me was that the top area looked to be so small with the freezer located on the bottom. I couldn't imagine that there was that much room in it, but I was wrong. The salesperson said it had more space than our old model refrigerator, and when we cleaned out the old unit to load the items in the new Frigidaire, there was room to spare.

I immediately noticed how much more convenient it is to have all the refrigerator items at standing height. You don't have to stoop and try to look behind items that are located close to the floor. Everything is visible when you swing out both doors. Once you grow accustomed to this refrigerator's styling, you will not want to go back to a side-by-side unit.

My husband likes the full width drawer below the crispers because you can put just about anything in it. All the drawers slide easy and don't hang up like the ones we were accustomed to using in our previous refrigerator.

The worst thing about this refrigerator is the cost. Our hope is that it lasts for many years before we have to make another investment. It is a much better layout than other standard styled refrigerators, but anyone in the market will need to decide if they want to spend this much on a kitchen appliance.
