Coleman Insta-Clip Screen House

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

I bought one of the Coleman Insta-Clip Screen House tents last summer to use when we go camping. Mosquitoes and flies seem to be attracted to me but I love the outdoors so this is my solution. I stay in the screen room. It is also nice for extremely sunny or rainy days. It works perfectly for me as long as we keep it closed tightly.

This tent is so easy to set up but there has to be at least two people. One thing that I was concerned about was if it would stay put in high wind. I got to test that out last summer and it performed great, it didn't move or blow away at all but you do have to make sure to use the stakes to keep it in place. The frame snaps together with shock-corded poles. Once they are all connected, you add the tent. It's easy to put up and quick and easy to unsnap and put away. When you put it away, make sure that the tent is completely dry and cleaned off. If you can't do that when you leave, make sure that you open it up when you get to your location, let it dry and then clean it off before putting it away. If you don't, you will get mold and will have to throw it away. It is a fairly large screen tent so there is a lot of folding to get it to fit into the bag again. The total measurement of the screened tent when set up is approximately 11 x 13' (3 x 4 m).

When I bought my tent it only came in beige but it appears to now come in blue. It has a zippered door on two sides which is also very convenient. The newer version of this tent has a hanging pocket organizer to keep games and other stuff off the ground. The price of the tent seems to range anywhere from $100.00 to $175.00. There is a warranty that comes with the purchase.

There are mixed reviews for this product. From five stars all the way down to one-star. Overall, it is a good product but I do agree that the poles could be made stronger so that they last longer. I haven't used my screen tent more than a few times so far and have been happy with it up to now.
