The Great States 16" Reel Mower is solid and durable, yet lightweight and maneuverable for easy storage.
115 years of engineering & manufacturing technology has given it an updated, lighter design and added optional attachments.
Its frame and handles are made of tubular steel and the wheels have been upgraded to a durable composite material with radial tread tires.
The blades in the cylinder are tempered alloy steel and they cut very well.
Precision bearings in the reel and the spring-loaded reel shaft make for smooth, accurate wheel rotation, along with adjustable wheel height and cutting height to accommodate various lawn conditions. You can also get attachments like a grass catcher bag or an edger, and a blade sharpening kit.
The mower uses no gas, spark plugs or oil; it is totally powered by you. It also means no fumes from the gas, or difficult maintenance.
These are meant for smaller yards and not for overgrown conditions. They do perform excellent, cut clean and leave very fine clippings, and, are much easier to push than you would imagine.
So far, after two months of use it has been consistently reliable and cuts very well.
It is a little pricey (for not having a motor) but Great States has an excellent guarantee, maintenance is very inexpensive and compared to other mowers in the same class, it's priced competitively.
