This metal detector is lightweight, has a padded armrest and is adjustable in length. This is a big deal if you're going to be carrying something around for hours. They added enough features to make it ergonomic and fun to use.
It uses two, 9-Volt batteries and has a three tone audio alert to help the user distinguish what is trash and what is treasure. The user manual walks you thru the steps of how to "train" your metal detector. This will help it distinguish between certain metals and give you an idea of how deep they are buried.
With this model metal detector has a preset ground balance, which means it ignores the minerals that are in the ground and does not give you a false alarm.
The metal detecting coil is waterproof and interchangeable, and can work in shallow water or wet conditions.
The LCD display is clear and has good visibility; in the bright sunlight you may have some difficulty, but most LCD screens are like that.
It performs well and feels solid in your hands. The instruction manual is easy to read and understand, and it does decent on battery usage.
The price is average to slightly high, but compared to other brands with similar features this one seemed the better deal and most rugged. So far it has held up to quite a bit of abuse and still functions as it should.
