This camcorder is lightweight, durable, and performs excellent.
It weighs less than a pound, has shake correction that works great, and a smart auto setting. The smart auto will pick the best settings to shoot in for you; this lets you take quality video and still pictures while you learn (if necessary).
I was not sure I would like not having a viewfinder, but it really doesn't take that long to get accustomed to it. The instructions are well written and the user interface is easy to learn. The touch screen LCD is easy to see and responds well to light touch.
It is packed with all Canons' great features, built in microphone, plus a microphone jack, instant AF Sensor, and Digic DV 3 image processor. This is just a few of the features. This model has internal flash drive, 32GB internal memory, SD slot and a full HD CMOS image sensor.
The buttons and switches are easy to maneuver and feel sturdy. It has a place on the bottom of the camcorder to mount on a tri pod; it also has a remote control.
It also comes with Canon's Pixela video editing software. It may take awhile to get the hang of the software. Read the manual and instructions repeatedly. If you are new to camcorders, getting the hang of all the features could take awhile.
The price is average to slightly above average compared to other brands with similar features. Canon backs it with their limited manufacturer warranty.
