(Written after interviewing another on the product)
I love doing bits and pieces around the house sort of like a handyman hobby and although I have a huge collection of tools, the only time I upgrade or change machines is when one finally gives way or when one is received as a present.
I still have 2 other Makita drills both cordless and electric and they still work brilliantly after a number of years.
This drill is a bit smaller and lighter then the older ones which would be really good for someone who uses a drill daily or close to daily for ergonomic reasons. It works just as well as the larger bulkier models. Even with this, it is still solid to use and doesn't slip and as yet there is nothing that I have had a problem with drilling.
The LED light is a nifty little feature that wasn't on my previous models, it does help in hard to see sort of areas. The battery also lasts an extremely long time for a drill which makes a huge difference especially if I forget to charge it.
The power is great, it's only ever stalled a couple of times but that is going to happen with any drill.
One thing worth mentioning is that it doesn't have enough settings to really be used heavy duty for someone who uses it for a number of different things daily. It is MORE then adequate for the at home handy-man.
