Keurig Platinum Brewing System B70 coffee maker

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

Keurig has set the standard in single cup coffee brewing systems for both home and office use. After using a few other Keurig systems, I can confidently say that the B70 home system is appropriately named with the word "Platinum".

This single cup home brewing system makes it easy for you to grab your cup of morning coffee with a push of a button. The Keurig system includes a filtered removable water reservoir that holds 60 ounces, or about 10 cups worth of water. In the center of the machine is the flip up brewing station. This is where you load your "K-Cup", which the single cup brew containers are uniquely called. On the right side is a sleek looking panel with the display options in the upper right.

Set up of the system is extremely easy with the manual. After getting the machine set and loading the water reservoir, you life the lid and place a K-Cup into the holder. After pushing the lid down, you have five different cup sizes to select from (4,6,8,10, and 12 ounces). You can program your preferred features with the display options.

With its award winning design and Quiet-Brew Technology, the Keurig Platinum Brewing System is a solid value at a retail price of $169.95. You can buy a wide assortment of K-Cup varieties and flavors that are generally excellent quality.

While this machine is top of the line in single cup home brewing, it has some natural limitations. Primarily, it is intended for single cup brewing and is not as efficient as a standard breIr at serving guests. HoIver, once the machine is ready (following water loading), the brew time is just 10 to 15 seconds. The K-Cups are expensive, with a common store price of $9.95 for 18 Cups.
