Optoma EP728 DLP projector $899

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

This is the first projector we have ever owned and we love it! It has a very bright picture with 2700 lumes (lumes determine the level or light output, or in other words how bright the projector picture is) and a DLP chipset from Texas instruments making the color amazing. The lamps last about 3000 hours, with the projector giving you plenty of warning when replacement of lamps is necessary, so you won't have to go without your projector. I will say the lamps tend to run over a hundred dollars for replacement, not something you want to be doing allot. This projector only weighs 4 pounds so it can literally go anywhere with you, we move often and find that packing up our projector is much easier than trying to move a television. With it being so easily portable we have used the projector for outdoor movie nights, taken it on vacation so where ever we go we can watch movies by running it through our computer. We have also used it for video presentations. With the viewing screen as large as you want up to 300 inches, it's great for movies or gaming. With VGA, DVI-D with HDCP, S-video, USB and RS-232 its compatible with a wide variety of options for multiple video sources. Our major use for the projector is for video gaming on the Xbox, and movies. We love the crisp, large picture the game or movies come to life, making it an excellent gaming or movie experience. The projector doesn't take up allot of space either we can set it on a stand or mount it on the ceiling depending on where we want the movies or games projected, if we find that it's too sunny in one area of the room we just rotate the projector to project at another side of the room, its super easy.
