Frigidaire FAA055P7A Compact Small-Room Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

This is probably one of the best high-efficiency "cheap" air conditioners for small rooms. Like many other machines, the speed of the fan can be changed so that you can get cold air further into the room in a shorter amount of time.
One of the greatest thing about this unit is the controls. There are lots of options available to the user. You can set it up to run for a set period of time - as long as you want - or you can even set it to run according to temperature, so it will shut off when it gets as cool as you need it to. The on and off button is also very easy to use. The touch panel also responds very well, and the are no issues changing things or turning it on and off.
In addition to being able to set the speed of the fan, you can set the temperature anywhere between 60 degrees and 90 degrees. You can also set it to just fan mode, so if it's cool outside you can use the unit as a fan and get cool air inside without having to take it out of the window.
One of the neatest features is the fact that it has some neat integrated energy efficient features. One of them is the fact that when your thermostat reads the correct temperature, the fan keeps running over the compressor which is still cool for about three minutes. This means that your AC machine is actually using all of the energy available to cool, and not just allowing the compressor to cool off on its own.
Long story short is that this is a very quiet, easy to use and efficient air conditioner. It has kept our bedroom cold when it's 90 degrees outside. And when I mean cold, I mean that our bedroom was in the low seventies, high sixties in temperature. It's easy to use, efficient, and is extremely convenient with the remote control. I would recommend this unit to anyone living in a tropical or semitropical climate, as this will definitely get you through the summer.
