The George Foreman Grills are known for eliminating the fat from a person's food by allowing it to drip into a smaller tray. These grills were originally considered to be shams but have since proven to be very efficient and worthwhile cooking appliances. The Champ grill is a smaller grill that is perfect for cooking for one or two people. It has a 36 square inch cooking surface and cooks from both the top and bottom of the food.

All George Foreman Grills are electric grills. This means that they can be used inside the home safely. The Champ Grill is one of the smallest grills, although it is very effective at cooking frozen and thawed food quickly and easily. The grilling surface is a non-stick surface that does not flake off when subjected to heat. This surface has small ridges on it that run parallel to each other. This provides both the signature grill marks and a channel for the fat to run through. The sloped surface helps to provide the gravity assistance that the fat needs to travel to the drip tray.

The George Foreman Champ grill uses a hinging mechanism to attach the two heating plates together. This hinge also provides a small amount of pressure to the top and bottom of the food, allowing it to cook faster. This small amount of pressure is coupled with the George Foreman heating element that has been designed to cook food faster and more efficiently. This helps to ensure that the food is not only completely cooked but is done so in such a way as to comply with the needs of the modern family.

The George Foreman Champ grill features a heating indicator light. This light is orange and is placed on the top of the grill. When the light is on, the grill is heating up. Once the light turns off, the grill is no longer heating to temperature, but may still be very hot. This grill also features a non-stick and dishwasher safe drip tray. This tray fits directly below the bottom grill plate and allows the grease and fat from the meal to fill it. The Champ also features the grill spatula. This spatula has wide groves in it that allow it to fit between the grooves in the grill plate. This spatula is also dishwasher safe and non-stick. The spatula is thin and so exposure to extreme heat and weight for extended periods of time will warp the spatula.
