Preheating time is roughly a minute and a half, and has a two step system for brewing, as when the coffee grounds as wet, the machine pauses and then continues brewing, allowing you to truly get the entire flavor of the roast you are using. This allows for a steamy and full-flavored beverage - the espresso from this machine is often hotter than other machines can give you. The steam wand allows for a lot of steam, which really allows the milk you're using to get light and frothy, with plenty of foam. Cuisinart's Programmable Espresso Maker EM-200 provides great cappuccinos and lattes, along with tea and instant beverages. It also has a cup warming feature on the top of the machine.
