While the Lexmark Z1300 is certainly one of the cheaper full-color printers out there, it isn't the absolutely best quality. It provides all of the basic functions of a printer, but is very slow and requires very expensive ink top print. It also isn't the greatest when it comes to connectivity. The quality of the actual printing is fairly average, and a little bit underwhelming. This printer is pretty average, but the costs of ink and paper can get very expensive, with some inks costing more than the actual printer! The Lexmark Z1300 only comes with a single color cartridge, so you need to buy your own black, which is slightly irritating. The print speeds are also extremely slow - while the manufacturer claims it to be 12ppm, it is honestly closer to 3ppm, which can get agonizing and extremely irritating. The quality of the actual images and the texts is average, or subpar, with the text sometimes blurring and becoming jagged or streaky. The images often come out to be pretty grainy, even when printed on glossy paper, which typically eliminates any traces of grain in photographs. The banding is also difficult to make out, which can become quite the issue. It's a shame, because the Lexmark Z1300 is actually a better photo printer than anything else, when it should in fact be the exact opposite, as it is with any other printer.
Connectivity is another issue. The only connectivity the Lexmark Z1300 offers is via USB port. As well, the Lexmark Z1300 doesn't offer PictBridge compatability or the option of using a card reader. As well, paper capacity is limited to one single tray, and doesn't even have an output tray!
While the Lexmark Z1300 is certainly one of the cheapest printers on the market, it's not the best quality. Normally, it's understandable if a printer is cheaper, doesn't feature many features or has poor connectivity options, but prints in high quality, but the Lexmark Z1300 doesn't even manage to do that.
