The Montel Living Well Blender has been the most wonderful purchase that I have made for my kitchen. I have replaced several of my other appliances with this one blender. I love that I can make a gallon of soup in this blender without having to make it in more than one batch. I had a Vitamax blender for a long time and it never could do half the things that this one does. With a horsepower of 2, there is not anything that this blender can't take on-- except nuts. It is nice that the motor will shut itself off when it starts to overheat, but sometimes it will take over an hour before it is cool enough to use again. This is not idea for making nut butter, which the box claims that it will make.
I purchased the Living Well Blender because of the large pitcher that comes with it. I can easily make five milkshakes or smoothies in one batch with the Living Well Blender. This blender is very easy to clean. The blade slips right out so that you don't cut yourself. The pitcher is dishwasher safe, which means less cleaning for me. The container is also PBA free so you won't have to worry about chemicals or other harmful toxins getting into your products. This blender will even take the seeds from your fruits in the 15 seconds it takes to blend the smoothest smoothie that you have ever had.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. I do not have a real desire to use it for such heavy duty items as making nut butter, therefore, I should not have many problems with this blender. For only $200, I have been able to eliminate my food processor, old blender and juicer. I believe that this is a great product despite all the bad and mixed reviews that I have read. Compared to the Vegimax, this blender does more than its fair share of work in the kitchen.
I bought a Living Well blender in August of 2012. This morning when making my breakfast smoothie the motor started on fire. I called customer service and they offered to send me a new base and pitcher but I had to pay shipping of $54.00. I think when you pay over $200.00 it should last for more than a year. I will not be purchasing Montel's product ever again.
