Frigidaire 21 Cu. Ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator
The Frigidaire 21 cubic foot refrigerator with top freezer compartment is a good sized machine. It comes in white although we got ours in black to match our other appliances. Manufacturer's retail price is about $779 dollars but we purchased ours at Lowes in 2005 for $550 dollars during an appliance sale. As we prefer a top freezer section, this is what this model has as standard. The freezer, while not large, is adequate size for a medium size family and includes an automatic ice maker that I would not be without. The freezer section also has its own bins in the door allowing many smaller packages of food to be stored in the door.
The outside of the model is textured and really doesn't show fingerprints or other marks, but is very easy to clean. The door on the freezer is curved downward while the handle on the refrigerator compartment is curved upward, meeting where the freezer ends and the refrigerator section begins. This curved handle feature is very attractive and easy to grasp to open either section. The bottom plate of the refrigerator is the same black color making it all uniform in color and style.
The refrigerator section is nice and bright with great inside lighting. There are three inside bins, including clear drawers so it is easy to see what is stored there. All of the shelving is white coated wire with the exception of the bottom shelves which are spill proof and easy to clean. There are also humidity controls on the vegetable crisper drawer which seems to make your fruits and vegetables last a bit longer. The refrigerator door section has four smaller, although wide bins to hold all your condiments and even full size gallons of milk. There is only large shelve running along the bottom that will hold 2 liter bottles of soda and wine bottles. There is also a built in soda can dispenser, although my son seems to break it off after about two years.
Every so often it is important to move the unit from the wall and take your vacuum hose to clean the dirt and lint off the coils. Completing this cleaning will make your Frigidaire last longer and work more effectively. A two year limited warranty came with our model but we also bought an extended warranty for more assurance.
