Whirlpool 30-inch Freestanding Electric Range (Model # WFE301LVB)

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

For for the most part I am a fan of this range. I bought it because I like the ceramic cook top, it is so much easier to clean than the standard coils, and because it is black which matches the rest of my appliances. The ceramic top heats incredibly fast and will boil a pot of water in half the time of my old stove. It makes cooking a breeze.

The self-cleaning feature is nice because it saves me from scrubbing. Many ovens are self cleaning, but this one does the best job I have seen yet. This could be because it is the first brand new one that I have owned, but as long as I don't have to scrub I am happy. I would like it a little better if it had a grill because I do love to grill but the upstate NY weather does not always allow it. Having an indoor grill would really be icing on the cake. Also, if there is no bake timer which is kind of inconvenient. I have to set the timer on the microwave when I am baking something which means I cannot use the microwave during that time, so it would really just be easier to have one on the stove.

Other than that I am really please with this range, it heats up quickly and cooks evenly. The price was mid-range and I feel like it is worth the money. I could have gotten a coil stove top for much cheaper, but the convenience of cleaning and shortened cooking time are worth the extra money for me. Nothing is worse than trying to clean the coils and underneath them. In comparison to other ceramic top ranges I feel that this measures up. I am sure it does not far surpass the rest, but I do not think it comes up short either. I am not in awe of it, but I am pleased with it and have no regrets in my purchase.
