I had been wanting a Movado for awhile but their infamous bangle watch for women became quite unappealing to me when I started noticing that everyone has the same one. The other problem I had with that style is that they are a bit too big for my small wrist. When I found this Movado with a bangle look that is combined with a traditional watch link at the back where the clasp is, I fell in love because it is different and I could have it sized.
This Movado is really a lovely watch, stainless steel with the brand's trademark traditional black face. It also has a sapphire crystal face that is scratch-resistant, which is a nice feature even though I generally only wear it when I go out. It is also water-resistant to a dept of 99 feet, which was convenient when I dropped it in the sink. The watch is elegant and simple and at a price of $495, you really can't go wrong for a dress watch because other brands are so much more expensive.
That being said, I do have a serious issue with my Movado, it has stopped working twice. Now, Movado is suppose to mean "always in motion" but I have been told that it needs to be overhauled (whatever that is suppose to mean). The worst part about the watch breaking down is that none of the local dealers where I live will touch it, they have to send it directly to Movado which is really inconvenient because it takes about two weeks to get it back. Now, I do love the watch, it is really beautiful but it definitely does not live up to the quality that I was expecting. What good is having a nice dress watch that has to be fixed all the time even though your barely wear it?
