Gorilla Play-Sets Tiki Tree House Beachcomber Swing Set

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

This Gorilla swing set was a birthday present for my twins. They had a smaller play-set that was not in very good shape so we decided that if we were going to get them a new one, is was going to be a Gorilla, despite the $2499 price tag that came with it. The choice for us was simple, we could buy another cheap one that would look horrible in a year and need replacing or we could spend the money on a good one where the wood is guaranteed for 10 years to resist decay, rot and insect damage. The decision was easy. This would certainly get used and since Gorilla products are known for their reliability and safety, we agreed it was a good investment.

Gorilla has quite a few options, we thought the Tiki Tree House looked fun and different. It has a heavy duty roof with bamboo accents, a 5 foot deck and a nice big sturdy platform. The unit comes with two swings with three different positions, one trapeze, climbing ramp, Caribbean cargo net, attached picnic table, sandbox, bell and a nice tall wave slide. It was absolutely perfect. It does require a good amount of room, the length is 19 feet while the width is 11 feet so plan on it taking a good chunk of your yard.

Don't let the website fool you when it says assembly takes 10 to 12 hours, maybe if there is a whole team of people working on it. It took us half the day just to get all of the parts sorted out of the 850 pound box and arranged in a way that we could find everything. The directions are extremely easy to follow though. Gorilla did a spectacular job of creating step by step directions in 3D however, it is a time consuming project. The play-set requires no stakes, it is completely free standing and it is so solid, there is not a doubt in my mind that questions the safety. The children love it as do all off their friends. I love it because it is virtually maintenance free. I spray it off with the hose every couple days and that is all it needs. If you are thinking about a swing set for your children, keep in mind that although these are expensive compared to many other units, they won't need to be replaced and they are extremely safe.
