I bought this little space heater use shove under my desk at work and keep my toes warm. I work in an old building with questionable heating. Even with the furnace on full blast, the room is uncomfortably cold in the long winter months.
I needed something that was small, and could be hidden when prospective or current clients came to visit. I also wanted a compact design because it can be put close by without having to have an entire bit of my very limited floor space reserved for it. I also need a small design because I need to transport it myself without a vehicle. I was not prepared to lug a heavy heater onto the bus. This is one of the smallest space heaters I could find and absolutely fulfilled all my expectations in that department.
I was also concerned about having a quiet machine. Space heaters I've owned in the past make huge clicking and whirring sounds when they turn on. That is not something I wanted in my very quiet office environment. I need concentration when I work, and I can not stand random, loud noises from machines meant to keep me more comfortable. This one is extremely quiet. If I didn't feel the heat coming from it, I wouldn't know it was there.
Because I own my own business and have to pay the electricity myself, I was concerned about a huge increase in the bill over the winter. Because this space hater has two settings (400 and 800 watts) I can put it on the low setting when the building warms up in the afternoon while staying toasty with the high setting in the mornings. The electricity is not a problem, even when I have it one for a majority of the time the entire day.
Though it wouldn't be effective for a larger room, this is great for small spaces like desks or small rooms.
