SPT SF-608R Portable Evaporative Air Cooler

So far this has been a good air cooler for its application. While not the best, it certainly is a four-star machine, because it's benefits more than make up for any of its issues.
First off, the price is a great reason to purchase this unit. At $99, it's incredibly cheap. It also seems to work very well in low humidity. It has a very strong fan that can cool you off even when you're not cooling yourself. It has a great timer that works perfectly. On top of it all - and most important of all - it has a way to drain the condensation (drain plug), and a washable air filter that is made of plastic.
One thing I want to add about this machine is that it's more of an air cooler than an air conditioner, although it does a good joob cooling our rooms. It's been in the 80's and 90's with low humidity and this machine can definitely cool down the room a number of degrees. In fact it's in the 80's outside and it's the 70's inside. This is an excellent eco-friendly way of cooling off as well, at least more friendly than inefficient air conditioners of other manufacturers.

Long story short is that this evaporative air cooler (or swamp cooler as some are fond of calling them) is great for cooling down your house in the summer time. Very energy efficient and "clean" it's a great unit for keeping you cool in a green manner. I would definitely recommend this unit to any of you suffering the effects of the heat of this summer.
