This past month I researched various single-cup coffee makers and went ahead and bought the Keurig B-70 single cup home brewing system. This machine was first released in late 2006, and it's been on the market long enough that people have had an adequate amount of time to review and note all of the positive and negatives about it. In short this machine has been exceedingly well-manufactured from both a design and engineering standpoint, and it makes an excellent cup of coffee. I was non-plussed by how quickly it can brew a cup of coffee, the different sizes of cups you can make, and how simple it is to clean it all up once you're done.

There are many different single-cup coffee makers on the market, most of which use some sort of pod or sachet of some sort. As far as I was concerned it's really hard to decide to lock yourself into one manufacturer for pods, but this is where the Keurig unit stands above the competition. They have multiple manufacturers of gourmet coffees and teas that support their platform. Green Mountain, Van Houtte, Tully's and Newman's Own are just a few brands that make coffees for the Keurig platform. This means you're not directed to one manufacturer, like many of the other pod-based coffee makers require.

On top of all of the offerings of different brands of coffees and teas, the Keurig machine even allows you to use your own coffee grounds. With the K-Cup reusable coffee filter, you don't need to be suckered into buying pods for every cup of coffee you drink. You can simply pack your own coffee into the reusable pod, and have your own brew for a much better price.

Long story short the Keurig B70 is great because it is flexible. You have access to all the benefits of a pod-based coffee machine without the drawback of being stuck with having to use only that manufacturer's pods. The unit is also very high quality, and they're an excellent value for the dollar. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a single-cup coffee brewer.
